Excited for new Iannucci tonight. Unfortunately, hip young people won’t be watching because Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s parents were rich boo hoo boo hoo. But excited. And Season 4 of the Thick of It’s filming now, supposedly… Most importantly, “let’s set fire to tears”-!!!
Meat Bob, Bobcat Goldwaith’s album is on Youtube! I listened to this over and over and over when I was a kid. This, Cosby (the album that was hardest to track down was the one about the car that goes 200 mph), Dennis Miller’s Off White, Steven Wright’s I Have a Pony, and Robin Williams’s Live at the Met (my parents wouldn’t play side 2 because it was about sex but they had no problem playing side 1, that was all cocaine jokes, over and over and over). Bobcat’s interviewed over at the Nerdist— some people think it’s weird he’s a director but I always remembered him as much from Meat Bob as the Police Academy movies, so it’s less surprising… I remember the “I don’t know any jokes” bit ALL THE TIME.
