Asylum of the Daleks:  Off to a decent start.  Fun first fifteen minutes or so when it was on blockbuster-movie mode, I thought, and the rest held up okay, even if it was a bit predictable in places.  This season’s mystery seems like it could be a decent one. Plus: that last episode with the Daleks was SO terrible, the WWII one, and Davies had a bunch of stinkers— that Manhattan one— it’s nice just to have one of those that works. Moffat in a more traditional vein but I think that’s where he needs to be after last year with all the pyramids and the astronaut babies and whatnot.  The bit where I’m not convinced:  Amy and Rory’s story is over; they ended it last year; so more of them was a little boring, especially with what they did here which felt underserved— they didn’t have enough time to do it properly so it felt like they wasted time doing it at all.  But the internet fans eat that stuff up, I guess, so maybe I’m in the minority there.
