20-second Doctor Who “Asylum of the Daleks” teaser. I like that title. The trailers so far— I’m not looking forward to the dinosaur episode; the high-concept episodes in Moffat’s run have tended to be the worst— see, e.g., the pirate episode. The celebrity writer this year is Luther’s Neil Cross, though? That’s a fun pick. And I’m glad there’s not going to be any two-parters— the last couple haven’t tended to work out much. Last season didn’t end well (I can’t imagine most of the audience doesn’t have severe River Song fatigue at this point), and I didn’t like the last Christmas episode at all— I thought that was the worst one yet (but I don’t like talking trees because that is a creepy thing and a thing television shows or movies shouldn’t be about)(see, e.g., that one gropey tree from Evil Dead— who wants to get a beer with that tree? Just jerks). See also, this bit from the Guardian review of Asylum: “Afterwards, Moffat told me that the intention here is compressed storytelling – 90 minutes squeezed into 45”. Anyways, Touch of Cloth has a release date finally in late August and “rumor” is early September for Who— I don’t get why UK people are so damn secretive about when things are going to be on television… That is a weird cultural difference between our two peoples, in that US broadcasters are generally more in favor of people knowing when television programs will be featured on television. And that is how much I can babble after watching 20-stupid seconds of Daleks screaming! I’m a grown man! Wee!
