It’s wrong to rate animals above human beings… When the legislation that passed in the farm bill that says that it’s a federal crime to watch animals fight or to induce someone else to watch an animal fight but it’s not a federal crime to induce somebody to watch people fighting, there’s something wrong with the priorities of people that think like that.
Republican congressman Steve King (R-IA), apparently running for re-election on a pro-dogfighting platform. A lot of Republican congressmen won’t publicly admit that they love to watch physically and emotionally tormented game-dogs engaged in a brutal bloodsport forced to cripple, maim and murder one another while their cruel human masters smoke cigars and drink champagne at the end of a campaign, but Steve King’s got the courage those guys lack, I guess.
